Remember when you were young and promised yourself you would never grow up?

How you promised yourself that you would only eat dessert for dinner, never take a shower, and not live a lifeless nine-to-five life?!

Well, when did you realize that those were promises you could never keep?

For me, it’s a gradual process — growing a little bit every day. I am still a very immature person and I’m still figuring out who I am. While on this never-ending road, it’s fun to look back and laugh at all the bold promises I made. Here are a few of my favorites that make me cringe.

I Will Never Waste My Time Watching the News!

When I was a kid, cartoons and movies were the holy grail of entertainment. I would scoot up to the TV, turn on Cartoon Network, and bathe in the glorious display of colorful characters, wacky sounds, and the all-important fart jokes. But, when the clock struck seven, war erupted at the Ranasinghe house as my parents switched the channel to watch the news.
