My love for writing on pen and paper

What is your favorite way to write?

Do you sculpt your words through a typewriter?

Do you weave together stories over a computer keyboard?

Or, do you speak your tale into an electric receiver that types out your words?

For me, I always find myself going back to classic pen and paper.

Addicted to the Tools

Whenever I get inspired or have the itch to write down some ideas, I desperately look around for a pen and a piece of paper. I am like a raving drug addict searching for my next hit of ecstasy. On numerous occasions, I find myself tossing over my desk or crawling under my bed searching for something to write on. I think this desperation stems due to two reasons.

  1. I am very untidy and unorganized
  2. There is something special about using a pen and paper

To me, writing with pen and paper is an intimate dance between the writer and the page, slowly shifting between the thoughts and dreams that flow from the writer's head to their fingers, fingers to pen, and pen to paper. I sometimes find myself shifting and swaying as the words criss-cross across the parchment. It is like I am in the story, taking one…
