Putting the Pieces Back Together

A poem/sudden rant

This is not a poem with a message profound,
Just a little rant related to an irritating rat that ran around,
Skittering, scampering, and scrambling on the table it clowned,
Knocked over my mug, leaving the handle shattered, unbound.

Broken mug by Author

At first, I was shocked when I heard the sound,
Then rage crept in, my emotions unbound,
I screamed, “With my fist, your head will be crowned!”,
But, gone like a fart, the smelly bastard was nowhere to be found.

Rear up, head down, I crawled on the ground,
Swearing like a sailor, but never making a sound,
After 10 minutes, three broken pieces I found,
With super glue and sellotape, the handle I bound.

Ugly fixed mug by Author

It’s not very pretty, and it won’t be renowned,
It will never be perfect, the scars will always be found,
But, it works, and works well, and for that I am proud,
Though once broken, this mug is perfectly sound.

Thank you for reading and have a great day!
