Up, Down, and Around

The midnight ravings of a sleepy person

Look up at the sky and gaze upon the storm clouds gather like evil sheep,
Up to no good, uptight and upset at the world, eyes flash blinding white,
Boom! The uproar stampedes across the sky, followed by heavy tears,
Achoo, they sneeze hurricanes, leaving homes uprooted, upturned, uptorn.

A world turned upside down.

Destruction reigns downtown, downtrodden dissidents demand reprieve,
“Down with the king!” The crowd’s cruel cries are carried downwind,
A downright distasteful display of debauchery, the king downplays the scene,
Ignorant of the immense downsides of the guillotine’s downswing.

Down to spread hysteria around?

Charlatans, thieves, and opportunists gather around for a round of debate,
Should we round up the sheep and sic them on the fat cats in wolf coats?
A conspiracy tossed around until the right time came around,
Wrapped around their fingers, the puppets played their part perfectly.

Swing!
